This original black-and-white Osaga print ad captures the bold performance promise of the KT-26 running shoe.

“You’re in for the shock of your life,” the ad begins, warning both serious runners and weekend joggers about the pounding forces their feet endure with every step. The KT-26, with its revolutionary Bio-Kinetic® sole, was scientifically developed to absorb and redirect up to three times the body’s weight in shock, protecting runners from the foot, leg, and back injuries common at the time.

A series of flexible cantilevered lugs in the sole, illustrated in the ad, deflect downward impact outward, away from the body, acting as natural shock absorbers. The result: less shock, greater stability, and reduced injury risk.

With its sleek design and pioneering technology, the KT-26 stood at the leading edge of running science in the early 1980s.
